The pain before surgery was horrible I couldn’t move or walk and was chair bound. Prof Malek listened to me. I had X-rays and even though I thought it was my knee he explained it was my hip and rebound pain. I was given a date for surgery and received outstanding care from him and his team. Two months on I am walking with a stick and can get out and about. He has given me my life back.

My Dad have a 83 Prof. Malek was respectful and caring. My Dad thought he had knee pain but in clinic by assessing him it was found to be his hip. Dad was admitted for surgery and he received excellent care by all the orthopaedic team and staff on POW. I can’t the team and Prof. Malek enough as Dad has pain free excellent quality of life again.

Prof. Malek is totally professional and inspires great confidence. He is also very easy to talk to and answered my questions and concerns in a way that made me feel reassured. I had a total hip replacement which has transformed my life, eliminating the debilitating arthritic pain which I was suffering prior to the operation. The procedure was carried out under spinal anaesthesia which ensured a rapid recovery. I was out of bed and walking on crutches the next morning and amazed at how well I felt. After visits from Prof. Malek, the anaesthetist and the physiotherapist, I was able to leave hospital on the third day. The whole team was very caring. It is now six weeks since my operation and I am able to take the dog for short walks and drive the car again. I have been reviewed twice by Prof. Malek and have now been discharged. I would definitely recommend Prof. Malek if you need a hip replacement. I am so glad that he did mine.

I chose Prof Malek after being impressed by his CV and reviews I could not fault the care I received from first consultation to discharge 6weeks later he listened to me explained everything and ensured I understood what was involved in treating my osteoarthritis. June 23rd I elected to have my total left hip replacement under spinal/sedation anaesthetic ( which I would highly recommend ) very good post operative pain relief. Mobilized the next day seen by the physiotherapist daily till discharge (stayed 3 nights) Saw Mr Malek daily Good nursing care throughout. I received a copy of my operation notes plus copies of letters to my GP 6weeks down the line I have been discharged walking with no crutches feeling much more my age (77) preop I felt more like 97-107! its also again a pleasure to walk my dog! Thank you Prof Malek and team for giving me my life back !!

I had a total knee replacement with Professor Malek in June this year. He was so reassuring, honest, understanding and basically brilliant at his job from start to finish. I felt as if I was in very safe hands and mattered. I am extremely grateful to him. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and I am having my 2nd knee replacement under his care.
